Hi, I'm Kyle.
Currently I am pursuing an M.A. in Music Science and Technology at Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). Previously, I completed a B.S. at Stanford in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in interactive design, completing coursework in computer science, cognitive science, and applied statistics.
I am passionate about the intersection between design, technology, and music, with the belief that audio is under-utilized and under-appreciated across modern technology. Ambisonic and directional sound is rarely explored in favor of traditional stereo setups, digital musical interfaces have yet to offer degrees of expression on par with conventional instruments, and less than 1% of processing power is dedicated to audio in most audio-visual games. Audio technology has enormous untapped potential, and I hope to be a part of its next chapter.
The past three summers I have worked as a counselor at Stanford Sierra Camp, where I have come to appreciate the importance of human-centered design (and made some of my best friends along the way). I am always looking to meet new people and hear about what they are passionate about. If you think we have something in common or just want to chat, please don't hesitate to send me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org!
